It's hard to teach a young bird new tricks... Oh wait. Maybe it's supposed to be it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks, but in this case, sometimes It's hard to teach a young bird new tricks. My boys have some words that they say wrong everytime...It's like one they've said it like that you can not get it through their head how it is really supposed to be said.
Here are a few I've written down lately....
right way--their way
seatbelt--seatbelk
jump--jrump
Jonah and the Whale---Jonaff and the Whale
Table--tavel
Towel--Tellow
Bandaid--Bandit
Excited--cited
Airplane--Hairplane
Breakfast--Brefast
Play--Pway
Place--Pwace
Microphone--singer
Thing--Sing
Safe--Saft
Except--butcept
Most of them are a mispronunciation, I understand this. But what I don't understand is that after correcting them 100 or more times... why do they still say it wrong?

Because it's cute and someday you'll miss it! We corrected Cloe a hundred times on calling the computer a puter-dit. Now I miss that sweet little nickname she had for it!
Pretty sure.......butcept is hilarious :) Totally my fave!
At least you know what they are saying. When Adelynn talks I really have to listen. For a lot of the things I can figure it out but some times she'll say something and for the life of me I can't figure out what what she is talking about, course her mom usually can.
Yeah I agree with sneaky mommy. There were things all my kids said that were so cute, and at first I would correct them but after a couple of kids I realized that they would outgrow it and then they wouldn't say it any more nor would they remember how they said it before so I quit correcting.
Yes, I'm looking through your old posts for recipes. lol But this made me laugh because our assistant pastor just learned a few years ago that Breakfast is actually pronounced Breakfast because he had ALWAYS called it brefast. That's just funny.
