Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods is back! The only time I'll watch golf on tv is when Tiger is playing. Too bad I didn't see the last few holes on Sunday when he came back and won. It's really nice watching it in HD too. The Masters Tournament is coming!

NYC

Stephanie is going to New York City. That's right. On Easter weekend she is going with her mom, her sister and her mom's sister. She's going cause her sister, Dana, is getting married there. She's excited. I'm sure it will be fun. I really don't have any desire to go though. I've been to NYC... for 2 hours. I went on a college trip with Brian N, and Mark V. We visited Baptist Bible College in Pennsylvania. Mark was really the only one visiting colleges. Brian and I were just along for the ride. So while Mark went to classes at BBC, Brian and I decided to drive to NYC. It was 2 hours or so away. Mark didn't know we went and we had Mark's parent's Chevy Astro mini van. Brian drove and I was the navigator. Brian was the only one to get out of the van in NYC, and that was just to go to the bathroom at a Wendy's. We didn't know where we were going. That was my experience in NYC. Stephanie's will probably be much better.

DirecTV

We're switching. Right now we have Dish Network for our tv. We are switching to DirecTV on Saturday. We have Qwest for phone and internet. Since we have Verizon for cell phone service and Verizon is offered under Qwest now, we decided to bundle. DirecTV is offered under Qwest so we decided to bundle everything and switch over. So now we are going to have HD! Woohoo! Plus, we'll have 100 more channels. Finally... Fox News, Gospel Music Channel, Big Ten Network, Boomerang, DIY, GAC, Hallmark Channel, The Golf Channel, plus a bunch of XM Satellite radio stations including a Southern Gospel Music station!

We're trying to sell our entertainment center. We want something smaller. We also got rid of the tv in our bedroom. We never really watched it. We're getting rid of a lot of stuff and we having a garage sale the first weekend in April.

Craigslist

I just got done posting a couple items on Craigslist for the first time. Our old tv and our armoire in our bedroom. It's so exciting. I gave both of our social security numbers, address, and phone numbers. I figured people would love all of that information.

We also just got done rearranging all the bedrooms. Hard to believe, isn't it. Stephanie really didn't want to but I forced her to do it.

We are also waiting on hearing from our own blog follower, "Washow", aka, Jeremy Arends. His wife, Kamber, is at the hospital right now, ready to give birth to their first child, T.J. :)

Cereal

We just got back from Mankato. Stephanie and I went with Nicole. We went to Sam's Club and Cub Foods. We now have 20 boxes of cereal. Yep. 20 boxes. We had bought five at Hy-Vee that were on sale last week. At Cub Foods they had 10 boxes for $15! Can't beat that. Then, on the receipt for the cereal there was a coupon for a free gallon of milk. Actually, there were 3 of them. We used one. So we can put the cereal in our storage shed out back. Just getting prepared for kids!

Brackets/Sick

It's tournament time. I filled out 11 brackets online this year. Ten on ESPN.com and 1 on CBSsports.com. We'll see how I do this year. On all of the brackets I had the top 4 seeds winning there first game and then went from there. I'm watching Minnesota get crushed right now. That's fine though, cause I didn't have them winning any anyway. Pitt all the way, baby!

Stephanie is still a little sick. She's slowly getting better though. She's got the cough now. She gets a cough every time she gets sick. Before bed, I've been making a "potion" for her. 2 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar, 2 Tablespoons of honey with a squirt of lemon juice. Zap it in the microwave for 10 seconds and drink it. It's really nasty, but it works. She's been sleeping through the night, without coughing. Here's a link to the benefits of honey and cinnamon

Love and Logic

It's recommendation time. Believe it or not it's a book. Yeah, I read a book. Actually I've read a few in preparation for adoption. Anyway, the book I would like to recommend is "Parenting With Love And Logic" by Foster Cline and Jim Fay. Very good. I don't claim to be an expert on raising kids, obviously, but I think this is a great book with some very helpful advice. The stuff in the book just makes sense. I'm also not saying that none of you know how to raise your kids. I think I'm going to read it again. For more info on the book follow this link or this one for more info on Love and Logic. Now back to American Idol. See ya.

Facebook

Wow! 66 degrees outside. This is great. Just a taste of spring.

Just a warning for you Facebook users. If you are married and both of you have an account, make sure the other person is signed out before you use it. I was looking at some pictures on Saturday and the Skype phone rang. I saw it was Stephanie's sister so I just gave the computer to her. After she was done talking she got on Facebook and was looking at the same pictures on our friends facebook account that I was looking at. Then she decided to leave a comment on the picture. The comment said, "So gorgeous." Of course it was a picture of a woman. And of course she was still signed in under my name! Thankfully, she noticed what she did right away and deleted it. Then she didn't know if it would still send her an email about it. Thankfully, it didn't. I thought it was pretty funny.

Tomorrow is Grand Ole Opry night on American Idol. Randy Travis is the mentor and he and Carrie Underwood are singing together on Wednesday's show. I like country week even though a lot of them do really bad. We'll see.

Rendezvous

We didn't do anything yesterday. We pretty much just sat around all day. Stephanie is still sick so she didn't go to church this morning either. I went out once yesterday to do a couple things. One of my stops was at Wal-Mart to get a couple things. I was kind of in a hurry cause I was picking up lunch for Stephanie too, so I wanted to get back. On my way out the door I pushed the unlock button and opened the door to the Rendezvous. But it wasn't the right one. It just happened to be unlocked. Thankfully, I noticed right away cause the seats were different. I just shut the door and kept walking. I'm not sure why I did it. It wasn't even close to ours and it was a little different color. Plus, there was a sticker on the driver-side window that we don't have. I noticed all of this before I opened the door too. I was just in a hurry, I guess. It's a good thing there was nobody in it.

Weather

Finally!! A nice day. It could be 60! Too bad Stephanie is sick. I'm ready for some green outside. I've had enough of the brown.

I've literally been sitting here for 5 minutes trying to think of something to type. Nothing's coming to me. Goonies is on t.v. right now and I'm kinda watching that too.

"Hey, you guys." It doesn't quite work when you type it.

See ya.

Pizza(updated)

Today is Stephanie's Birthday. I got her a picture frame thing that says "FAMILY" in the middle. We're going to eat at Stephanie's new favorite place tonight, Nick's Pizza. It's thin crust pizza that's really good. We went a couple weeks ago. Stephanie and I split a large pizza and we ate the whole thing. No leftovers. It's yummy. It's not the best pizza in the world though, that's Mabe's Pizza. :)

Fire Marshall

I just got done putting up more drywall. I thought I was done with that. The fire marshall came yesterday and there were a few things we have to do. Nothing major, thankfully. We have to get a bigger fire extinguisher. We had to move the Carbon Monoxide detector upstairs and we have to put some drywall on the ceiling in the storage area under the steps. That's what I was doing. Not quite done with it.

I'm watching American Idol right now. Blah. They're singing Michael Jackson songs. Not super impressed with anyone right now. Maybe Lil Rounds. There's still a few more left.

Peace out dog.

The Jail

Last weekend we went to Iowa to celebrate Adelynn's 1st birthday. It was also my birthday on Sunday, March 1st. On Saturday we went with Jeremy and Kamber to eat at Texas Roadhouse. Mmmmm. I love that place. Anyway, we called in ahead of time and it was a two hour wait. So during that time Jeremy decided we would go visit his brother, Will, who works at the Polk County Jail in Des Moines. We were just going to say hi, but we ended up taking a tour of the jail. Jeremy and I even went into the "pod", where the male inmates live. It's a good thing the ladies didn't go in, cause some of the guys were showering in there. It was a little awkward to be standing in there with all the inmates right around you. I felt like I was at the zoo and there should have been a sign that said, "DON'T FEED THE ANIMALS." It was interesting though. We got to Texas Roadhouse right when our two hours were up and ended up waiting another hour. But it was well worth it.

Butterflies

As I begin my first blog with my new format I can't help but think of what life would be like without pretty butterflies. The beautiful reds, blues, orange, greens and purples interwoven to create an eloquent specimen.  If it weren't for butterflies there would be no cocoons. That amazing silky ball that is formed by the butterfly. I've begun to think that life is like a cocoon. With all of life's amazing intricate....... AHH! Sorry, I tried. But the new format of the blog won't be happening. I have no amazing life-lessons that I've learned from butterflies or cocoons. This will be the same old blog that you've always known- a bunch of nonsense. But this time I'll keep up with my blogging. Now I better get back to cleaning up the house. We're cleaning out the closets and cleaning up the basement. The fire marshall is coming on Monday. They finally got our money and paperwork and gave us a call on Friday. Now that we found out they don't really need to come. That's alright though. It's better to get it done with.
