What's new with you?

Here's what's new with us....
This is Stephanie posting by the way, just thought I would throw that out there for props because TJ says I never post anything on here.
Last week we got word that our Home Study was completed (YAY)... and they sent us a copy to have for our records.  So that was exciting!  We had them send it off to different states/agencies towards specific sibling groups that we are interested in learning more about.  We are praying that they will send us some sort of info stating that they received it and then hopefully tell us what their process is and how many visits they have you do, and any other steps you have to go through before being considered... la dee da.  So again we are waiting, but one step closer so that is cool.
Saturday night we went to Lowe's to get the wood for framing the bedroom walls in the basement.  Our friend Keith is coming over to help us with that!  We are thankful for his expertise, and willingness to help toward this cause. :)  When we were at Lowe's we forgot to bring gloves to go through all the wood with so we were being careful handling it as to not get any splinters.  Well, when we were loading it onto the trailer, I was moving a board and a splinter when straight into my finger.  It was very painful.  When we got home, I had to get it out right away, so I grabbed the tweezer... I could only see a little piece of it because it literally went straight into my finger.  When I pulled it out it was 1/4" long.  If it were any longer it would have gone all the way through my finger and out the other side!  OUCH!  I've never had them go straight in like that they are normally parallel with the skin.  Interesting:)
Tomorrow is the big day to put up the walls! So hopefully we have what we need.  At least Lowe's is not that far away if we need something extra.  Maybe I'll take pictures so you can see the progress.  After the walls are up they have to come inspect to see that we did it according to the plans we provided for them, so that will be Inspection #2.  Then we can pull the electrical through and have them come for inspection #3.  So let the fun times begin!
Look for more details to come, and maybe even progress pictures!
Until next time, this is Stephanie Wright reporting live from Owatonna, Minnesota.

Hello.

Wow. It's been a week since I've posted already. Time flies. I just listened to a message on our answering machine saying our home study's been approved. So now we will try and get some more information on the kids. And hopefully soon we will be going full steam ahead on the basement. We are doing two bedrooms downstairs for now.

Over the weekend we went down to Iowa. It was kind of a last minute decision. It was yes, we're going. No, we're not. Yes, we're going. No, we're not. And so forth. We finally decided to go down. We went to Jamie and Adam's till Sunday morning. Cole had his birthday party Saturday. Sunday morning we surprised my family at church in Slater. They had no idea. Good times.

We may be getting some studs for the basement tonight. We'll see. Don't get confused, when I say studs, I'm not referring to myself.

Here's the latest. We are actually still playing the waiting game. I believe they are reviewing our home study right now. That is suppose to take 7-10 days. Things right now aren't looking to good for Nathen and Chyann. They have been visiting a family in Colorado for awhile now. And their social worker is pretty set on them. They are still accepting home studies for them so we will still send them one. But we have already been looking at other waiting children in the U.S. and have our eyes set on a couple other sibling groups too. We are fine with it if it's not who God wants for us. We know His way is best so we are just trusting Him. We are just excited to adopt! We'll see! That's the latest.

We had our final home study meeting on Thursday evening. It took only an hour and a half. The other ones took 3 hours. She said we get right to the point. Now she types it all up and sends it to someone from the agency who reviews it. She said that should take 7 to 10 days. So after that hopefully we can find out more about Nathen and Chyann. That's the latest update. Thanks for praying!

Camping Weekend

What a great weekend. The weather was perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. I spent most of the time sitting around the fire. It's so relaxing. Especially when the smoke blows in your face. We had Stephanie's sister's kids in our tent with us since Tim and Nicole weren't there cause she just had a baby. Congrats, by the way, to Tim and Nicole on the birth of their daughter, Kacee Ruth Perrizo.

On Sunday morning, my nephew Elijah took a tumble down the ladder on the playground at the campground. He had to get 4 staples in his head. OUCH! He's doing good though.
And on Sunday night the campground did their annual Karaoke evening. And once again Stephanie and I sang the Carpenters,
"Superstar". I also sang the Carpenters, "Hurting Each Other" by myself. It was awful. Just horrendous. I couldn't hear the music so I couldn't find the right key and then it was just too high so I was way off during the verses. I mean WAY off. And I sang it loud too. It was sooo bad. I made the most of it though.
