I'll snicker your doodle

Lets face the facts....TJ is weird and it's creeping into me! AHHHHHH...someone help!
TJ has this (one of many) weird things he likes to do with words....take a long word for instance and say I'll ___________ your _________....i.e.... my title. :)
So I'm here to tell you that I made homemade snicker-doodles, and they are
SUPER-califragilisticexpiala-DELICOUS! I don't remember having these as a child, even though my mom says she's made them before. I don't remember ever having a recipe for these, or really seeing a recipe for these. And I'm kinda shocked considering my love for these cookies why I never searched or looked for a recipe for these before. But given my newfound desire to make a million new recipes in the next who knows how long, this is one I highlighted to try. And oh boy am I glad I did! And lucky for you I'm totally into sharing my wonderful finds!

Snickerdoodle cookies...Yummmmmmmy!
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 3/4 cup flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 Tbsp white sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

Cream the butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, eggs and vanilla. Blend in the next four dry ingredients. Mix well and shape into balls of dough, and roll into the 2Tbsp sugar/2tsp cinnamon mixture. Put 2" apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but I have the hardest time rolling dough into balls. Whenever I make cookies that have to be rolled they usually end up looking more like spinning tops then a round dough ball and I have to reshape them with my fingers. Oh well! They still taste quite delish!!!!

What's funny is that when I walked in the door I asked Stephanie what she made. When she said snicker-doodles of course I said, "I'll snicker your doodle." Then she asked if I read that somewhere. Of course I hadn't. Just being myself.

I remember mom making snickerdoodles and I think that she put cream of tartar in them. I do not like cream of tartar. It is so tartar.
