Picture of Heaven
In our Homeschool adventures we were talking about cities in general and how they work, look, run.
Then one day we talked about the best city....the New Jerusalem, (heaven). So I drew a very simple not really biblically correct picture for the boys to color. Then they put cotton balls on for clouds, and jewels on to show all the colors and beauty that will be there. Like I said, not biblically correct. I did not draw 12 gates, or measure it to be the same distance top to bottom, side to side, front to back or any of that jazz. You get the point. It’s just a craft to help bring the picture alive. Read about it in Revelation 21-22:5 and then draw, color and glue a picture for yourself!
When reading the verses we’d stop every once in awhile and I’d ask if they knew what that meant, or what that would look like, when we got to this verse
21The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass.
I asked Monkey what that meant. He said “that means we can see through the road. I wonder what we are going to be able to see.” Hmmm....I thought that was a interesting question. If the road is transparent, what are we going to be able to see?
The New earth, clouds, what’s going to be down there?!?
Great Question Monkey....anyone have an answer?
