First Urgent Care Trip

I can not tell you how many times I've asked all 3 of my boys to not play so rough.
And then of course the standard line...
"It's not going to be much fun anymore when someone gets hurt!"

Well this was no exception.  However, they hadn't been rough housing even long enough for me to give the standard lecture. :)  lol

I hear a loud bang, then a loud cry followed by a loud panicky shout for me to come help!  I come over and help grab Monkey to bring him to the bathroom all the while blood is pouring out his head and down my shirt.  We grab a towel to help stop the blood from getting all over everything else, get in the van and drive to urgent care.

I run in carrying Monkey and go up to the desk.
The lady nonchalantly says, what happened?
I tell her, she then says what where they doing?
-my thought-Seriously?  Is that really important right now?
She then asks who his doctor is, child name and birth date, who's the insurance under and what's his birthdate and type of insurance?
-my thought-Seriously?  Can you ask a few more questions, while my son is bleeding from his head!

We go into the room and Monkey lays on the bed while the nurse starts to clean it up.  She gives me a cotton ball with numbing medicine on it and asked me to hold it on the cut for about 10 minutes.
When she leaves the room he was concerned that we wouldn't be able to go to our church hayride.  Funny that he was thinking about that. :)
Then she comes in and puts 3 staples in.  She asked me what I prefer staples or stitches.  Staples are easier to put in and remove when on the head.  She said there really wasn't much difference besides they were easier.  So we went with staples.

Here they are.

He can't get it wet for 24 hours.  Otherwise he should really be good as new.  I'll just have to keep the horseplay under wraps for a few days while this heals.

Glad it wasn't worse. I'm sure this probably won't be your last trip to Urgent Care. So, did you go on the hayride?

I'm glad he didn't land on the front of his head. Like hitting his face!! Tell him that Grandpa says he will now have a scar like I do. Mine might be alittle bigger I guess. No one will even be able to see it unless he shows them. Thanks for letting us know about it. Hope he is doing okay now.
Love you guys!!
