Taco Soup

I tried this new recipe that I got from a friend.  And after starting it, I thought this is kinda like a different version of chili.

TJ liked it.  I think he gave it a 7 out of 10.  He had asked me to make a new chili that was a little less tomatoey so this accomplished his feat. :)

Taco Soup

1 lb ground beef
¼ c chopped onion
1 ½ c water
1 can stewed tomatoes, cut up
1 can kidney beans (I used chili beans)
8 oz tomato sauce
1/2 an envelope (2T) taco seasoning
1/2 cup green pepper
Anything else you want to add!

Brown ground beef with onion and green pepper.  Add other ingredients.  Simmer covered 15 minutes.  Serve with cheese and tortilla chips or regular flour tortillas.

We didn't have the chips or tortillas with it.  We could have.  Just chose not to.  But we did top it with sour cream.  Of course.  We are a sour cream sort of family.

I will post my standard chili recipe some time later, and I will probably be trying a few others out.  So if you have a good one!  Leave a comment or send me a message.  I just might post it on the blog. :)

Something that we have come to like in our Chili is BBQ sauce. It really adds a nice flavor, and would make it less tomatoish.:)
