Edible Bird's Nest

This was a craft idea with our schooling books, since we are talking about birds, and nests.

An edible bird's nest!
The kids were so excited to make them, and then eat them.

grass-   shredded wheat, or mini wheats.
Mud-   Chocolate chips & peanut butter
twigs-  chow mein noodles
eggs-   grapes

This makes 3 medium to large size nests.
I had 3 bowls.  For each bowl I used about 2 handfuls of grass.  1/2 cup of twigs, and then after melting the mud together, pour 1/3 of it into each bowl.  Mix gently with a fork first.  Then pull out of the bowl and put on wax paper.  Now get messy and shape your birds nest!

Put it in the fridge to cool and harden the chocolate.  Then put grapes in there for the birds eggs.  Next eat!

Enjoy!
