Close call at work

Let me create a picture for you.

So I'm working Monday night at Viracon. The guy I was working with and me were putting glass on a rack. It's kinda "L" shaped and you stack the glass sideways on it. Well, we're putting it on and this guy is driving by in the aisle next to us. He's pushing a trash rack. It's kinda like the rack we were putting glass on except it has wheels. It was full of trashed glass that was bad or scratched or whatever. He was on his way to the dumpster. He was pushing it with what is called a tugger. Well the connection to the rack came undone from the tugger. I was watching this all out of the corner of my eye as we were putting glass on. I noticed it was coming towards us but I wasn't quite sure what was going on. I finally realized it was stopping so I yelled, "It's coming" and jumped out of the way. It knocked a bunch of glass over. They said I was white as a ghost. But I'll have you know my record still stands at 29 days!

thanks so much for the visual aids. It was much easier to follow your story. you should consider being a teacher and hanging out w/annoying 5th graders all day. I'm sure any school would hire you after seeing your story telling ability!

Wow that was close!! It looks like it must have been pretty hot in there cause the last picture looks like your cevlar outfit might have melted onto the floor. Just an observation.. unless of course it's something else!! :-)
The important thing is that your record still stands!!

In the last picture that is not supposed to be my uniform :)

That was close!! It sounded like you saved the day by yelling, "It's coming!" You should get an award or something.

One more thing, as I was observing your artwork I noticed in the last picture that your buddy was still by the glass? Did he move out of the way? Or did he get glass all over him?

That is a very interesting question you raise. The guy I was working with, we'll call him "Abdul from Somolia", didn't see the glass coming because he was facing the other way. I yelled "It's coming" and jumped out of the way. I'm not sure cause I wasn't paying any attention to his well being and whether he was alright, but I was told he just kinda stood there. We were in the process of moving a piece of glass when it happened and they said he kept holding on to the glass like it was important or something. Very surprisingly, the glass didn't actually break or shatter. It was just scratched up.

TJ.. in my observation I would say that what you are standing in is your own P.P. must of scared you pretty bad! I hope you cleaned up your mess!!

Wow, that is simply amazing. I'm glad that "Abdul from Somolia" did not get hurt. Maybe I was mistaken in saying that you were the hero of the story, because it sounds like "Abdul from Somolia" was the true hero by not breaking the glass.

I concur with Robert. I hope you cleaned up afterward. On observation I made though: It looks like you are either taking an absurd amount of vitamin C or ingesting large portions of orange juice, or possibly you're dehydrated, because my extensive medical training tells me urine that yellow must have a deeper root cause.

Fortunately, Abdul from Somalia was there to preserve your consecutive days streak. Have you thought of inviting him over to live with you, in order to preserve your consecutive days of marraige without breaking glass at home? He could probably sleep on your sofa, or davenport, or devan, or couch, or love-seat if he's short. Possibly even a barca lounger if you have one. If not, you could just put him up on the bean bag. It sounds like he'd be awefully handy to have around.
