Your Money?

Not too much has been going on around here. Nothing too exciting. I was just curious, what are you going to spend your rebate check on? We aren't really sure yet. We've talked about putting it toward a deck or the basement but we just aren't sure yet. How about you?

Office

On Thursday I got Season's 1 and 2 of The Office. They were on sale at Target. I now have Season's 1-3. Hilarious. I've seen most of them already, but I could watch them over and over.

I just watched the episode on Diversity Training. And lucky for me I get to go through a 4 hour diversity class tonight at work. It should be a lot of fun. Probably not as good as The Office though.

Beautiful

This is what it looked like from our "deck" this morning. Isn't it just beautiful. I wish it would snow every day of the year. AHHHH!

Stephanie and I are going with the Sparks for their Sparky Hike. Except it really isn't going to be a hike cause it's too cold and wet. So we're going to Cabela's instead to look at the animals. Maybe we'll get them all shotguns too.

Brrr.

It's pretty chilly out. It's snowing in western Minnesota right now. We have a chance of snow here. Yuck! I'm getting ready to go out in the yard and put some dirt and grass seed down.

I'm starting to get sick of American Idol. They voted my favorite off, Carly Smithson, on Wed. It's becoming a popularity contest, not a talent contest. But I'm looking forward to next week on American Idol. It's Neil Diamond week. Woohoo!

The Dove Awards were on Wed. I didn't do quite as good as I thought I would. I got 19 out of 43 awards right. Here's the list of winners. Signature Sound won 2, Mark Lowry won 1 and the Isaacs won 1 as well. I thought this was great, Point of Grace won an award for Country Song Of The Year for "How You Live". It does have a country flair, but they've never been known for being Country. I did pick that one though.

Ewwww.

I saw this today on the internet. EWWW.

Detroit Woman Lived With Dead Sister For 3 Years

DETROIT (AP) ― Detroit police say they've found the partially mummified body of a woman in her 80s on the kitchen floor of a house where her mentally troubled sister was living.

Police say they believe the surviving sister had been living with the body for one to three years. They say the body was partially covered with newspapers and that a cat and dog apparently ate part of it.

The Detroit Free Press says authorities removed the surviving sister Wednesday night and took her to a crisis center. She's also in her 80s and appears to have mental problems.

Police say they went to the house after a neighbor called to express concern.

Going Green....Enough

I know I'm not the only one, but I am sick and tired of the whole "Green Movement" thing. I'm sick of hearing about it. It doesn't help that today is "Earth Day" either. I'm not saying we should just throw all of our trash out the window, but seriously, I think we're going a little overboard. Every time I turn the TV on there's always something about something we could do to make the Earth a better place. And it's always stupid stuff. I'm so sick of it, I've changed the Green Blog to Blue. The music player is still there too. It's just at the bottom.

That's my 2 cents.

Earthquake

I woke up around 4:30am to shaking and rumbling. I got out of bed just in time to hear some dishes fall and break. There goes our record. The good news is we are all right. Okay, I made all of that up. Did any of you feel it in Des Moines. I've heard some people felt it around there. Mom, your normally up at the buttcrack of dawn. Did you feel it? I don't know about going down to Iowa this weekend if we are going to be around the earthquake zone!

Basketball

I'm just cooking a frozen pizza for lunch. Yummy. There's not much going on. Which, I guess, is a good thing. I'm playing basketball tonight for the FBCBL. That would be the First Baptist Church Basketball League. We're pretty big time. I used to shoot hoops at my house all the time when I was a kid. But as soon as I got my drivers license I pretty much quit playing. So now that I'm playing again I realize how much I stink. Everyone always asks me if I played basketball cause I'm tall. Nope, not really. Just for fun. I played for a year in Junior High, but that's it. So don't be fooled. Just cause I'm tall, don't think I'm very good at basketball. I have fun playing though.

Lovin Life- Gaither Vocal Band - In Stores Today!!

Today is the day. The Gaither Vocal Band releases their new cd, Lovin' Life. Believe it or not I don't have it yet, but I'll be getting it very soon. Head out to your local Christian Bookstore or Wal-Mart, Target and Best-Buy and get your copy too. Once I get it, I'll review it for you. I know you can't wait for that. Have a good day. It might be 70 degrees today. Wow!

Rearranging

If anyone knows Stephanie at all you know she likes to rearrange. I'll walk in the house and the living room will be different or something. This morning I came in after work and she had rearranged the bedroom. It's not that I don't like the way she rearranges, it's that she does it all herself. She moves the big stuff. She's moved the entertainment center in our living room on her own. She's crazy. It runs in the family though. If you go to her mom's or any of her sister's houses they're always different. Except Jamie(hmmm?) Keep in mind, I'm not complaining. I just think she's crazy moving it all herself. I know what she would say though. She'll say she asks me to help and I never do. This may be true, but I think it's fine the way it is. And I don't expect she's going to do it all herself when I leave. I should know better by now.

I love you Stephanie.

Basement

We spent the day in Rochester today. Stephanie had the day off cause she has to do inventory at work tomorrow night. We were looking at stuff for finishing the basement. We looked at furniture and bathroom stuff. We are hoping to refinance this summer so we can add some money in to finish the basement. We got a few ideas. Now we're just ready to finish the basement off.

Water, Water, Everywhere

So all the time I am searching for what to post about. I'm always hoping for a funny story or something during the day. I was going to work some overtime today so I went into work at 6am. One of the guys at work said I was supposed to call my wife cause she called. I gave Stephanie the phone number at work in case of an emergency. So I knew it wasn't good. Well, the hot water valve under the sink was all corroded and it fell off. There was a mist of hot water spaying out. I ended up working a little over an hour. Thankfully, all out toilet paper was under the sink so that soaked up a lot of it. There was also a 3-drawer thing under the sink that was full of water. So that held a lot of water too. Some water did get on the carpet. We aren't really sure if water got in the walls yet or not. Hopefully not. The plumber came earlier today and has already fixed it. He said something about the cleaning chemicals we had under the sink. Maybe the combination of some of them corroded the valve. We thought that was kinda weird. The house is only 2 1/2 years old.

We've been married for almost 6 years and this is our first "house disaster" so that's not bad at all.

Like I said to Stephanie, at least I have something to blog about now.

Wouldn't It Be Great

So on Friday Dana suggested something for me that I thought was a great idea. After we had supper and maybe an hour and a half later I got out some leftovers from the fridge and had 2 more hamburgers with all the toppings. For some reason people think I eat a lot. Dana suggested we get a warming thing they use for buffets. I love that idea. We could set it on the island in the kitchen and the food would always be ready. I wouldn't have to warm it up in the microwave. We could get those halogen lamps over the food. I'm excited! I know Stephanie is too.

weekend

Wow. What a nice weekend. Friday and Saturday were both beautiful. Friday evening we had a bunch of people over and grilled hamburgers, hotdogs and brats. On Saturday we hung out outside a lot. We played softball with our nieces and nephews.

On Saturday morning for the first time since we've been married I had someone else cut my hair. That was a big step for me. Stephanie normally cuts my hair. I went to Great Clips. It was like 8:30 in the morning. I had gone to a couple other places but they didn't open till 9. So I walked in to Great Clips but there was a sign on their computer saying "Only cash or check" cause their computer wasn't working. I was about ready to walk out cause all I ever carry is our credit/debit card but the girl asked me if I know anything about computers. I said, "Why, what's wrong?" I really know nothing about computers but I figured maybe it won't be that hard to figure out. You never know. So I acted like I knew what I was doing. I had no idea. After 5-10 min. of trying to figure it out I gave up. I was about ready to leave but they said go ahead and cut his hair. I thought they would just write down my credit card number and enter it in when it started working. But nope, I got a free hair cut. Woohoo! What was even better was that I got a perm. So that saved a lot of money: ) So if you ever go somewhere and something is not working, pretend you know what you're doing and maybe you'll get something free out of it.

Finally. It's supposed to be almost 60 today! It's beautiful outside. I'm breaking out the grill tonight. We're having brats, hamburgers and hotdogs. Woohoo!

Rains Came Down

This story isn't quite as good as the "gas in the bed" story, but it's still pretty funny. Stephanie does the songs for Awana on Wed. night. We were in the kitchen at our house and she was trying to figure out which songs to do. She was trying to remember how the "Wise Man/Foolish Man" song went so we were singing with the actions. We got to the part..."the rains came down and the floods came up" and Stephanie swung her arm out on knocked over a full glass of water all over the floor. The rain really did come down. The glass didn't break though. Almost 6 years now of not breaking any dishes. I think it's a record.

Adam

Okay, so this picture is from Easter at Shirley's house. I think it's hilarious. And only because of my brother-in-law, Adam, on the far left. Is that not the funniest face ever. His face is saying, " Hey baby. I'm such a hunk. I drive a sweet Escort. Wanna go out with me?"
