Sensory Balloons

We got the idea for Sensory balloons here.

I didn't quite have enough of the same color balloons to do 5 blue and 5 green.  So instead I did 5 blue and the other set one of each color.

I filled them with, popcorn, kosher salt, flour, rice and split pea dry beans.  The kids have enjoyed playing with them so far.   There are 2 of each balloon filling, so you can match them.   They also like to try and juggle with them and they have added them to some of their other toy sets.  Like they were playing with their farm stuff and pretending the balloons were bags of corn the farmer was stacking up!

Love their imaginations.

Enjoy some of your own sensory balloons.  Fast and easy and fun.

Sensory #2 Beans

I updated my beans bin.  We bough a bunch more beans, got a bigger tote to keep them in and a few more things to play with in there.  Like an ice tray, stuffed animal, small people, spoons, cups, bowls, a baggie and of course a jar and lid.  We even hid a teeny little coin in there.  It's a little smaller than the beans so sometimes we take out the other stuff and just dig to find the little coin.

Letter Activity--
We also take out the stuff flatten or smooth out the beans and use the handle of the spoon to draw letters in the beans and have the others guess which letter we drew.

Sensory Bin #1

I thought of this idea last week, and the kids love it.  I needed to think of some good sensory, fun bins, so here's a start to them.

Rocks, and bugs from the dollar store.  A small bin from target.  Some old salsa and pickle jars cleaned out, and look at what a fun creative learning toy box you have!

Enjoy!
