Writing Fractions

Do you have a special needs child?  Maybe you can understand some of those easy things that you have to do again and again because your child just can't get it right.

My son is really smart when it comes to math.  Not when it comes to spelling.  So no matter how many times we work on spelling the numbers he has a hard time.

I try to make extra worksheets that he can use to practice the spellings without feeling like he is working on spelling.  Here's one of them.

Multiplication Cards

A while back I made addition cards.

If you didn't already know, I try to be frugal in many areas.  So printing my own flash cards was an easy thing to type up quick when I needed them.

Click here to print them out for yourself.

Dimensions are written on the file to know how to cut them apart.

Homemade Pingpong game

Super simple, yet fun game.

Put some different colored cups together on the floor.  Next, bounce the ping-pong ball into them.  We gave the different colors different values and then added up our points.  Make Math fun!

Months cut and paste-Kindergarten

We have our calendar presentation board we made a long time ago, which we use to introduce the months and days.  But added a fun worksheet for learning the month order.

Months cut and paste-Kindergarten version.  You can lightly see in this picture that the months are posted on this form, for a new learner to help remember the order.  Trick is....you can't just match them.  You have to do it in order to get used to saying them in order.

Click here to download and print this file for yourself.

Now you could use this once, and cut and paste.  Or you could laminate the right side, cut apart and match them over and over again! :)

Months Draw-a-Line

We have our calendar presentation board we made a long time ago, which we use to introduce the months and days.

But Monkey was needing some extra fun worksheet help on learning the month order.  So I made a couple worksheets for him.

First one is a draw a line to match the month with the number.

We like to do this in a sheet protector with a dry erase marker so we can do it over and over again.

Number Placements

Bear is doing really well in his kindergarten math book.  I've made and bought some other fun things we can do along with his paperwork to make it fun or like a game while learning at the same time.

I made number placements....1-9 green units, 10,20,-90 blue tens and 100, 200 -900 red hundreds to match our Math-U-See curriculum.

I set them up like this....
Then I would give him a number and he would put them together to make the number and practice saying it.

four hundred sixty seven....go!

Addition Flash Cards

I made these addition flash cards for Monkey to work on his number facts.  He does really well with adding, but some of them he has to take the extra time to really think it through.  So I wanted him to work through flat out knowing them without having to take those extra seconds to think it through.

So here they are...Download the file here.

Next I'm going to work on the subtraction set.  Look for that later. :)

Yes I made them red.  Someone told me red is a better color for kids with learning disabilities to focus on better than black.  So I'm trying it out.  You could always print it grayscale if you didn't want to use red ink for printing this.

I made the file 8 up on a page, but then decided to scale it down a little more.  So I printed them 2 up so there actually 16 on a page.  Still a manageable size, but you have the option of what size you want to print them. :)  Enjoy!
