Money game

Another find from the worksheet website.

Dollar Dice

Each number is worth a different coin, including lose a turn and any coin.  The goal is to get one dollar worth in your coins by rolling the dice.  But you have to get one dollar exactly.  So after a while you can only get a certain coin.  if you have 78cents and you roll the number for a quarter you can't collect that time because that would be more than one dollar total.

Enjoy. :)

Counting Chart

We have a simple 1-100 counting chart that we use for various things.  I started using it last year when Monkey would keep skipping the number 7, 17, or 27 in his counting.  I would give him a handful of beans, or buttons, or rocks, or something and have him count them by putting one on each number.  That helped remind him of the numbers he was missing when counting.

Download my counting chart here, to print it out for yourself.

Currently, we are using it for counting money with Monkey.  He grabs a small amount of coins and has to find out how much they are worth.  This helps him think through how much they are worth and also helps him focus. :)  Focusing always tends to be a big problem.

Enjoy! :)
