We are having Thanksgiving at our house with Stephanie's family. There will be 18 of us. That's a lot. Our house really isn't that big. I think if we lock all the kids in the spare bedroom, we should be fine. Of course, we'll give them a potty break every 5 hours. And they can come out and eat for 10 minutes. Speaking of eating, we're just not sure what to make for our main course. Maybe hamburgers or chicken. Maybe I'll grill the turkey. We'll let it thaw out and I'll just throw it on the grill for a few hours.

I'll be honest. I'm not that impressed by the "18 people in my house" comment.
This past weekend we had O'Tool Thanksgiving at the O'Tool Farmstead, back in Carroll. This, of course, is just for the "Frank" branch of the O'Tool Family, as otherwise we would have roughly 140 people or so. Anyway, the Hawk wants to play Balderdash, but not just regular Balderdash, but Beyond Balderdash, where they include acronyms, dates, names, movies, etc...
So I learned some important history while playing this game. July 7, 1922 was the date that came up. The following is an answer that was submitted verbatim:
July 7, 1922
As you know, July 7, 1922 was about halfway through the year of 1922. July of that year was quite hot, in fact, some consider it to be an ominous precursor to the Dust Bowl, a major factor to much of the suffering caused by the Great Depression. July 7th was a dark and stormy night. You might think the rain was a blessing, but nay I say, much moreso was the thunder and lightning a curse, for said thunder and lightning created such a ruckus that it caused Mrs. O'Leary's cow to stampede, knocking over the barn lantern, and sparking the Great Chicago fire of 1899.
Needless to say, this team did not win our highly contested game of Balderdash.
I noticed in the store that Beyond Balderdash is now Balderdash. There is no original Balderdash anymore with just one category. We have it. I should get that out and play it again. It's fun.
BALDERDASH!!!!!!!
