Cut some straws to different lengths. Start with the shortest one, and lay them one by one on a sticky piece of tape. Place another piece of tape on top to hold them together. Now blow through them to listen to the sounds. How are they different?
This ended up being a fun toy for the children to play with for quite awhile afterwards.
