There have been other songs before that I've noted and marked and listened to over and over again and shared with you all. Well here's another new one. A great encouragement to all of
us who at one time or another have gone through trials and disappointment, etc, etc, etc....
How can you enjoy the happy times if you've never experience the sad?
Listen to the song below and let me know what you think.
I HAVE to comment on this post. I really like this song, I sing it almost everyday lately. We do pray for "good" things, don't we? Who wants God to bring on the pain and trials? Us humans want to avoid pain at all cost. BUT (and I do mean a HUGE but) God has blessed me in the trials and suffering more than any other time. I draw closer to Him during those times, I pray more, I read my Bible more, and He teaches me more through the rough times. We also see where our faith lies during those times and see our weaknesses all the more clearly (the areas that God really wants to change in us). The Bible says that God sits as a refiner. Did you know that when someone is refining a precious metal like gold or silver that they leave it in the fire until they can see the image of themself in the metal? That's what God does, He holds us in the fire of trials to refine us and make us more like Him, in His image. I can honestly say that I have been blessed by the hundreds of sleepless nights, the thorn in my flesh (my fibromyalgia), the death of my dad and a close friend, a baby sick in the hospital, and the list could go on and on. Some of these I went through as an unbeliever, and some with that faith and trust in Jesus as my Savior. Through them all, God was trying to get my attention. Thank you Jesus for teaching me through suffering.
Oh, my, yes. This is the most amazing song. I cry EVERY time I hear it, which includes me BAWLING in church last week when a friend sang it for special music. It is so beautiful and so true.
