Feb. 29

Every 4 years I have to wait an extra day for my birthday. Actually, everyone does, but I notice it more on my birthday cause it's March 1st. To be honest, I don't really care. I was just looking for something to talk about on the blog.

I'd like to give a shout out to those who have the same birthday as me: my bud, Carsen Kramer; from what could be the greatest TV show ever, Growing Pains, Alan Thicke; this guy from Saved By The Bell, Mark-Paul Gosselaar. I think he does dog food commercials now; Dirk Benedict, from the most awesome show, The A-Team.

And on March 1st in history...1978: Coffin of Charles Chaplin stolen, only months after being buried; 1932: The baby son of Charles Lindbergh is kidnapped.

Pretty exciting stuff.

almost a good story

So we were having Sloppy Joe's last night for supper. Stephanie was eating one and couldn't finish it. She had almost half it left. So she gave it to me and I stuck the whole thing in my mouth cause I'm so awesome. Well, I gagged a little bit. Then I was fine. I told Stephanie it's too bad I didn't throw up cause I would have had another good story for the blog. I guess it didn't matter if I threw up or not cause it made the blog.

gas

As I mentioned on my last post we went to Monte's Steakhouse Saturday evening and for lunch we went to Arby's. I don't know if it was either of those or what it was but I had really bad gas. Yeah, that's right. It was pretty rotten. Well, when we went to bed Saturday Stephanie and I read the Daily Bread before we went to sleep. The passage was 2 Corinthians 2:14-17. Stephanie started reading it and I ripped one. It wasn't really loud but we all know the quiet ones are the worst. I knew it would stink so I tried to seal it in, which never works cause at some point you have to lift the covers and by that time your nose isn't ready for it and then it about knocks you out. Stephanie started reading... 14But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. 15For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing 16To the one we are the...and that's when the smell hit Stephanie. She read, To the one we are the... then she paused and the next line couldn't have been more fitting... smell of death. It was hilarious. And it quite possibly could have been the smell of death.

peeing

My parents came up over the weekend. We had fun. We went and shopped in Mankato on Saturday and in the evening we went to Monte's Steakhouse in Faribault. On Sunday my dad mentioned how they were going to leave in the afternoon so I could get some sleep so I don't break any glass at work. I guess I didn't sleep long enough.

Like my previous story with Abdul from Somalia, I will illustrate this story with illustrations I have created on the most advanced program out there, Paintbrush.

Okay, so it all started while I was working with "my best friend" Will. Or my BFFL. That stands for Best Friends Forever Life. Well we had this glass on what they call an I-Rack-see Picture 2. There were 18 pieces of glass on it. They were about 70" x 78", which means that were 12" over the top of the I-Rack which throws the balance off on the I-Rack. We did not put the glass on there, we just moved it. Anyway, I got on the forklift to move it to another area. I picked it up and carried it to the other area. Now the thing with an I-Rack is that the forks on the forklift stick out the front because the I-Rack is not quite wide enough. So I was going to put it against another I-Rack, so I had to set it down and go back a little with the forks and lift it to put it against the other I-Rack. That way the forks aren't sticking out and hitting the I-Rack in front of the other one. Well, when you lift it that way you have to be really careful so that the forks are flat and the rack doesn't tip back on the forklift or tip forward. Well I lifted it and noticed it was tipping back a little so I put it back down and flatted the forks a little. I lifted again and this time it was fine. Now remember when I said when the glass is that high over the forklift it throws off the balance. Well I knew that so I was trying to be really careful when I let off the brake to go forward. Well I guess I wasn't careful enough cause when I went forward it started tipping back. It was like it was in slow motion. I knew it was coming and there was nothing I could do. I was just hoping the glass wouldn't break. It did. Four of them in back broke. I yelled for Will and said, "I get to pee in a cup!"

When you brake glass on a forklift you have to take a drug test. I've been there for 2 1/2 years and this is my first time I've gotten to pee in a cup. I think I was the last one left that got to do that. Looks like I picked a good week to quit smoking weed. : ) There's nothing like holding a cup of warm pee.

At the end of the night I got to meet with our supervisor and the safety coordinator. It was so exciting. They aren't going to "right me up" though, so I won't get my forklift license taken away. They didn't blame me cause of how high the glass was.

There's my exciting story for the day. By the way, I passed the drug test.

Funny commercial

All right, so I think a lot of the Skittles commercials on tv are pretty stupid. But I saw this one on tv the other day and I thought it was hilarious. Here it is:

mornings

I guess the nice thing about working at night is that I don't have to deal with mornings. Stephanie hates mornings. She can never get up. She keeps pushing the snooze button for that extra 5 minutes of sleep. Of course I would do the same if I worked during the day. Here's a funny video I found about mornings. It's from WHO-TV in Des Moines. Andy Fales does a segment called "What's Bugging Andy" and it's normally done during the 10pm news. Well, he switched for the day with the morning weather anchor, JeriAnn Ritter. Here's what bugging Andy.

banquet

So on Friday evening Stephanie and I went to a Valentine's banquet they had at church. They had these tiny containers that had M&M's and nuts in them at each place setting to snack on. Well after we ate and before the speaker they had a box of chocolates to give away. So pastor said, "Everyone look under your nut cups for the marked one." Well I'm dying. How is that not funny. And he said it like 3 times. "Check under your nut cups." Stephanie was laughing too. Well I get looking around and no one's laughing at it. Come on people, this is hilarious. We had 2 other younger couples at our table and they weren't even laughing. I even said, "Oh, I didn't know we were supposed to bring them?" Nothing. Nut cups...how is that not funny? It's times like those you wish you had your immature friends and family with you.

The one and only....

I just realized I have yet to blog about this person. This guy is absolutely amazing. Besides the fact that he can play 48 pianos at once, he has great hair. Oh yes, I'm talking about the one and only, Paul Todd. This guy is hilarious. He's got his own cable show on the Angel Network satellite station. He can play the piano. But then, he thinks he needs to sing along with it. That's when it gets good. And then that hair. That's all I can say about it.

Here's a bit of his biography from his website...In 1999, Paul composed the song "The First Lady In My Life", which is fast becoming one of the most popular Mother/Son wedding dance songs in the nation.

Now I've heard my fare share of Mother/Son wedding dance songs in my lifetime, but this one has to be the best.

And now, don't get too excited, but you can spend 5 days with Paul Todd on a cruise. Now wouldn't that be fun.

wow

I have an exciting announcement everyone. The one and only Kenny Rogers has joined this blog! How exciting. Maybe Kenny can get Dolly Parton to join the blog. Then they could do a duet of "Islands In The Stream." Or better yet, everyone can get free chicken from Kenny Roger's Roasters. If Kenny Roger's beard and Chuck Norris' beard fought in a "no-holds-bar" death match, it would be a draw.

super bowl

I'm watching the Super Bowl right now. I had to work last night so I'm watching it now. I already know who won, so I guess I'm really only watching for the commercials.

facebook

I'll right, we've joined the craze. Actually, just Stephanie. I joined her. A certain someone who frequently visits this blog, we'll call her "Amy Kramer", insisted that we start one. So I started one for Stephanie. I think I'm getting it figured out. I created it less than half-an-hour ago and we already have ten friends! And we don't even have to pay these people to be our friends.
