Bear will not like that I'm going to tell this story, but he won't be embarrassed by it for another 10 years or so, so I'm cool with it.
For some reason he says peanuts for his private area... hasn't really been a problem, it's quite funny actually.
Well, yesterday we were at the store getting some snacks for our vacation. We grabbed different bags of candy and we got some caramel clusters. Monkey was asking what kind it all was and what was in there. So we get to the caramel clusters and I said what was in it.... chocolate covered caramel and peanuts! HA HA HA HA HA.... I started laughing because Bear looked at me and got this big smile on his face and said... No Mom! not peanuts. Of course he was referring to something else, not the food.
Oh boy was that funny! I guess we'll have to refer to the food just as "nuts" so that is easier for the 2 year old to differentiate nuts and peanuts.

Sad Day
It's a sad, sad day. Someone has died. And I'm not talking about Michael Jackson. Billy Mays died today. He's the loud guy that does all the Oxy Clean commercials and other infomercials. I've always loved impersonating him.

ice packs
A little ice in a baggy does wonders!
3 days this week now we've needed ice packs to heal some sort of wound. The first was the rock incident which I told about earlier on. Second was yesterday... we went to Officemax to say hi, and because I had left my lunch bag there from a few weeks ago.... we were over by the counter talking to Megan... there are chairs there. Bear was playing around at the counter and decided he would stand up... leading to falling backwards off the chair and hit his head on the shelf... he dropped something on the way down and when I bent over to pick him up he was trying to get whatever he dropped... Good grief. I said, "Let's worry more about your head, than the thing you dropped." It wasn't that hard of a fall, glad it wasn't worse. We went right home and put ice in a baggy and he laid his head on it for a while. Then all was well.
Today, Monkey was playing with a slinky. He kept hooking it to something and seeing how far he could stretch it.... I warned him not to stretch it too far or if it let go, it would smack him somewhere and not be pretty. Of course he didn't listen. He decided that he should hold one end and give the other end to Bear and had Bear start walking down the stairs to see how far it would go! Well once down the stairs Bear decided to let go of it! And Smack.... right in the face! So again with the ice pack.... It wasn't that bad, but the ice pack makes it feel so much better! :) I asked Monkey what he learned from this lesson... he said next time he would tell Bear not to let go.... Hmmm... do you think a 2 year old is going to listen to his 5 year old brother....?!?
I guess we'll have to see if he decides to learn that lesson the hard way, twice!

Skype
Today we skyped Grandma, and Auntie Jamie and the kids. First Monkey whispered to me, How is grandma talking to us? He was confused how this all works. Then they got into it and decided they wanted to show them everything. So they said wanna see my teddy bear, and they'd go get the teddy bear to show them. Then wanna see my dinosaurs, wanna see our room, wanna see the basement.... and so on and so on. After a while we hung up and started looking at some of our pictures on the computer. Bear says.... Hi Grandma to the picture and turns to me and says... How come she's not talking? HA! I guess the other "picture" of her was talking so why not this one right. Oh to have the mind of a two year old....
On a naughtier note.... we were playing outside this morning setting up the little pool... After awhile, not really sure what was going through his mind, but he obviously was not thinking of his surroundings or what was going to happen, so Bear picks up a baseball sized rock and chucks it. Right into Monkey's mouth! Yikes! We were lucky we didn't lose any teeth on that one!
Needless to say outside time was over!!!

Watch this!
This is Stephanie today...
Would you ever think it is so sweet to hear, "Mom watch this?" Every ten seconds of the day?! I love it. Can't get enough. or Mom come over here, or Mom play with me, or mom can I do dat? Or "yet me see"... or "Mom yook it"! Bear says y for his L's.
So great! God is so awesome. I just marvel at his wisdom everyday.
We took the kids to the new pool in town today. It was really fun. They have a tube slide and a slide you go down individually. We were able to take the boys down the tube slide. They thought that was really fun. The pool is actually very age appropriate for everyone. But yet costs money so it will be a once in a while thing.
We are going to go to fleet farm and get a small pool to put up at home. It won't be real swimming or anything, but better than nothing on those hot days.
After we hit the jackpot, and put up a fence and deck, we will get a nice big pool to put in the backyard. :)
Yesterday we were at the store and Bear was trying to tell me something.... "Mom, yook at this..." and Dad said yup..... so he kept saying it.... "mom, yook at this." Dad said yup again. And Bear said again. "mom, yook at this." I said he's going to keep saying it until mom answers. Dad says... you know, you can talk to me too!
hee hee, I thought that was funny. :)
That's a fun little snip-it from the Wright household.

Potty Patch
Does it get better than this? This thing is hilarious. Don't tip it over. So what if the dog goes #2 on it?
Anyway, I'm alone for the night. Stephanie took the boys to their foster home for one last visit and good-bye. They'll be home tomorrow. We might even try out the new Owatonna pool this weekend. It's supposed to be hot.

Boys
Wow. It's been a week since I've blogged. Sorry, I don't get on the computer near as much as I used to. Imagine that. Fatherhood is great! I'm lovin it! The boys are doing good. We've been playing in the sprinkler and we went to a parade on Saturday. It's just fun being a dad! It's too bad I have to work during the day.
We just got done with our first Tornado Warning of the year. The boys had not clue what was going on. They thought the hail was cool though.

Adoption Update- Part 87?
Sorry for the wait. Things have been a little crazy around here. You know, with my job and everything, it's just been hard to find time to blog. Not much else is going on though. HA. kidding. We had the boys down again this past weekend. This Friday is pretty much the day. Stephanie will be going up there and bringing them back. And then next week for a couple of days she's going up to the foster home with the boys where she'll stay for a couple of days with them. It's a chance for them to say good-bye. Stephanie and I have been trying to call each other mom and dad. I'm having a really hard time with it. I keep forgetting and call her Stephanie. We've been married for 7 years and known each other for 9. Old habits are hard to break.
In other news. I just got done mowing the lawn and found a turtle in our yard while mowing. I put it in a bucket. I'm thinking its new home will be in the bathtub.

Quitting
Friday is Stephanie's last day at OfficeMax. She's very excited to be done there. She likes the work but not so much the people. But that's not really why she's quitting. We will have 2 boys at our house for the majority of June. Then, by June 25th we will have 2 boys. Woohoo! Stephanie actually has a part-time job she has already started at. She's working for an appraiser doing the paperwork and stuff. The good news is she will be able to work from home! Enjoy the weather.

Peace and Quiet
It's so nice to have the back door open and not hearing cars, trucks and motorcycles driving back and forth.
They are redoing the road behind us so they have it all torn apart right now. It's so quiet, it's kinda weird. Of course as I'm typing this, I'm hearing a really loud construction tractor driving down the road. It's fun to watch though.
So I got on Gaither Community yesterday to check out what's going on and to see people's blogs. There is the one person called "Gospel Music Fan" that posts updates of Gaither related happenings. So she had a link about a "Five Star Report From Weekend Gaither Concerts". So I clicked it to check it out. It was my blog!! It was my report from the Des Moines concert! I thought I clicked something wrong. Nope. Although, it said it was a report from the Minneapolis concert. Pretty funny. Here's the link. Scroll down to "Gaither Makes Things Happen Over The Weekend".
